Redecker Scrubbing
Dish Brush, Tampico Fiber, 2 Inch Round
German beechwood dish brush with a 2-inch round head of tampico fiber. It belongs to Redecker's replaceable-head system, so worn heads can be swapped for new tampico refills.
Good to know: Replacement tampico heads fit the same handle. Redecker also sells horsehair heads for this system, which are animal-derived. Keep it out of the dishwasher.
Why we picked it
Redecker, a German brush maker working since 1935, builds this round dish brush from untreated beechwood with a medium-firm tampico head. The 2-inch head covers more pan per stroke than the smaller 1.5-inch model. When the fibers flatten, you replace only the head with a Redecker tampico refill and keep the handle. The wood will darken with use, which Redecker describes as normal patina. Redecker says to keep it out of the dishwasher and let it dry fully in a ventilated spot.
